The Broom Maker

By: Jim Gray

Lee Ogle was a gentle man, born in the mountains

of East Tennessee, and raised to make use of the

many things nature provides. Jim Gray pays tribute

this pioneer craftsmen of the Smoky Mountains in

his award-winning watercolor, "The Broom Maker".

Today, Lee's great nephew David Ogle carries

on the broom making tradition for the third

generation. Challenges of this current economy

and a home mortgage that was sold to an

unscrupulous national lender, had pushed David

to the brink of losing his home.
